I have a solution for you, and the Slime Dually Valve Extender Kit # SLM20140 is definitely going to be flexible enough to use on a Jeep Wrangler's covered spare tire since it is a rubber hose. However, since it's only 8-1/2" long, I don't think it's going to be long enough to stick out behind the rear of the tire and allow you access to the extended valve stem very easily-especially if you have larger tires than the stock tires that normally come on the JK.

We had a customer with a similar Rav4 as yours (2008 model) come back and write us a review and say that if you use the shorter adapter that comes with the Yakima SpareTime # Y02599 you can reinstall the wheel cover when you remove the rack from the adapter.

I believe I found the picture you are referring to and have attached to this page. The hitch does somewhat cover the tire portion of the spare, but it really wouldn't be much effort to position the spare around the hitch as you raise or lower it.

The plastic cover you are talking about is covered in step 3 of the instructions I have attached for you. It reads If present, remove the plastic under covering located under the trunk pan. You will not re-install the covering.

Your truck should have a round connector located above the spare tire for the adapter (part # 118384) to plug into.
To locate the connector, you might have to lower the spare tire. The connector is usually zip tied to the rearmost cross member. The connector might have a protective cover over the end of it to keep road debris out of it.

If your Silverado has the factory plug located above the spare tire, the easiest way to install a 4-pole would be to use the Tow Ready # 118384. Simply remove the protective cap covering the plug, plug in one of the connectors on the Tow Ready Harness and run the 4-pole to the desired location.

I believe you are speaking of the plastic cover shown in the video I have linked to. Before the hitch installation, the cover is removed and is not re installed after the hitch is in place. Once the hitch is installed, the plastic cover will no longer fit on the Camry. Because the hitch needs to be in direct metal to metal contact with the underside of the vehicle once it is installed, the hitch cannot be installed over the cover.
